Hi Textile people...a Quick Update for July...
Well, I definately spoke too soon about the builders and am ready to kneecap them right now....our renovation works ground to a complete halt after they disappeared with various personal problems ( like the biggest one was not being able to actually show up on site or put the second ceiling on straight, or take any rubbish away or wire up a plug so it's actaually safe grr grr grr!!). We are now 6 weeks behind schedule, and have no production area at all...having dismantled our last premises ready for the move out. If you are wondering why your orders are so v e r y s l o w at the moment it is because we have had to learn how to renovate overnight and are not able to actually make any paint or even find anything in all the dismantled rubble. Grant and I and our fabby neighbour Terry and our mate John and even Trudi (who is normally in the Producion dept!) have all got our sleeves rolled up and are frantically trying to get the building ready. Please bear with us through this time, it is our final resting place for SG and should unltimately lead to a much more organised little company once we settle in.
Products update... While the renovations are continuing we cannot make paint so if an item is not in stock we will email you and ask you whether you want to keep it on back order or have a replacement or refund. There are still a few shades of the discontinued Galactica, PolyGlitter, and Bijoux Blends left - which we have moved to the CLEARANCE CORNER to tidy the website up a bit. All the Tiny Treasures, Jewellers Tools, Gembellishments, and Christmas Stencils are sold out and officially retired forever.
JULY QUILT FESTIVAL LONG BEACH CA Gwen Jeffares and Rebecca Stuart are hoping to attend this show, if the renovations don't prevent us. We will be telling you about our new SG Consultant programme, demonstrating, bringing paint for sale, and Rebecca is teaching a quick slot at the Make it University (Quilting Arts Section - that's where our booth is). The class is called LIVING POSTCARDS we are forming plaster/Extender tableaux and painting and collaging the textured surface...only one class-hour so sign up if you like to work fast! SG RAINBOW ACCREDITATION PROGRAMME we are very excited as 12 specially-selected international guests will form a secret testing panel here in Scotland this September to review the first ever SG Accreditation programme. Their comments, together with their work, will be used to assess the programme and it's readiness for both SG and the City & Guilds Accreditation requirements. If all goes smoothly we could be offering the first USA and Scottish courses in January 2010. Lets all cross our creative fingers...
